Wellness Wednesday: It's time for our Spring Detox

Spring is here, so that means Summer is right around the corner, are you "beach body" ready? My new clients always ask is Detoxification Really Necessary before Starting a New Diet and my answer will always remain the same; YES!

Ready to get back in shape? Want to clean up your diet and enjoy optimal health? If so, you need a detox plan! This way, you'll flush out toxins and help your body shed excess fat. A short pre-diet cleanse will eliminate waste from your system, boost your energy, and ward off cravings for sugar and junk food. Let's see how detoxification works and why it's necessary:

The Benefits of Detoxing Your Body

Detox diets have the role to cleanse your system and boost overall health. Over time, the toxins in the air, water, food, and skin care products accumulate in your body. This can lead to fatigue, constipation, migraines, poor digestion, heart disease, high cholesterol, and even cancer. Toxin buildup is often the culprit behind digestive disorders, recurring infections, and hormonal problems. Even if you eat clean, you still have toxins in your system.

Cleansing your body before dieting can speed up fat loss and increase your chances of success. Most foods and drinks used in detox diets support optimal health, providing your body with vitamins and antioxidants. Not only do they help eliminate toxins, but also increase your energy levels, restore your gut flora, and cleanse your blood. A detox diet can improve circulation, relieve aches and pain, and strengthen your natural defense mechanisms.

Healthy Ways to Detox

From drinking green smoothies (sign up for the complimentary Healthy Is Sexy Detox Plan) to going vegan, there is more than one way to detox your body. In general, it's recommended to give up animal products, sugar, and processed foods for at least three days. Stick to freshly squeezed juices and smoothies for one or two days, and then gradually introduce fruits and veggies into your diet.

Use natural cleansing aids (check out Revive Detox System), such as wheatgrass, chlorella, lime, lemons, green tea, dandelion tea, and fruit-infused water. Take enzymes and probiotics to keep your digestive system running smoothly. Drink plenty of water and steer clear of soda, commercial juices, and alcohol. This approach will prepare your mind and body for weight loss, leading to better health.
