When I began my first detox in 2002, I was fearful, and I had no idea what to expect. I went to church with my cousin for New Year's Eve service, and they gave out the details about the 30-day Daniel Fast the church was organizing. At that time I was a party girl; when I finished up at the salon, my co-workers and I would hang out and drink. My drink of choice was an apple martini, and I'd consume a minimum of three. My diet was horrible, and it really didn't help that there were three fast-food restaurants within walking distance of my townhouse.  One of the three would provide dinner for my daughter and me at least 5-6 days a week. It feels so outrageous to admit that, especially being that I only eat "fat-food" about once or twice a month now, if at all. On Sundays I would prepare a good old soul food dinner – five-cheese mac’n’cheese from scratch, collard greens, yams and curry turkey wings, just to give you an idea of how I used to throw down in the kitchen.

By now I'm sure you can probably see why I was frightened to move forward with my first corporate fast. I had a ton of unhealthy habits that I had grown comfortable with. They seemed to fit perfectly into my schedule, but I knew I couldn't continue on that path. The fast would require me to think about my choices and decisions about what I would eat and cook for a whole 30 days. Thankfully I had an older client who was very strong in her faith and familiar with fasting; she helped a lot by giving me the encouragement, guidance, and even a prayer for when (notice I said when, and not if) I was tempted to break. With her help I made it all the way through the entire 30 days.  What I gave up was nothing compared to what I gained during this detox/fast. It was an amazing experience that I've been hooked on ever since. 

I am here as your detox/wellness mentor.  The body is designed to naturally heal itself. All healing and transformation within the body begins with a detoxification process of some sort. The environment must be in pure conditions for healing to take place. I will design a custom meal plan and detox strategy to help you get on the path to wellness and grant you the support to ensure your success!

A detox should be done a minimum of once a year, however, I reccommend every quarter when the seasons change; especially if you consume meat and dairy products. My phylosophy is "never go into a new season full of old Sh*t"
