Benefits of using herbs for cleansing lymphatic/blood system

Herbs are natural products that in most cases work with our bodies instead of working on our bodies. This means that unlike many synthetically manufactured drugs and other products, herbs help to support the body to do what it is naturally made to do. The body is created to cleanse itself for continued health and rebuilding of the natural wear and tear of cells and tissues. Did you know that you can reverse DNA cells within 3-5 years with lifestyle changes. This means that you can rebuild a new body with diet, exercise and detoxification. One of the main ways this happens is through the complicated lymphatic system.

How Herbs Affect the Body for Detoxification

The words 'detox' and 'cleanse' have both become very trendy words over the past several years. While there are numerous ways the body and organs can be purged of toxins for improved health and vitality, not all methods create equal results. Herbal cleansing by far has been one of the most consistent and effective methods that I've come across. Not to mention the fact that our forefathers strictly relied on herbal remedies for survival and countless treatments for healing.  The mere fact that our ancestors lived longer, more vibrant lives than many millennials and baby boomers these days should be reason enough for you to consider incorporating some of these "old folk" remedies into your wellness regimen.

I'm pretty impressed by the 11 100% natural ingredients and of course the fact that it contains only 14 grams of sugar per serving, I try my Best to keep my daily sugar intake to no more than 15 grams. It's tasty, I'd buy it again... #snacktime

Vegan Cookie Treat

Stuffed Butternut Squash
Cut the squash in half and removed the guts. Brush with grapeseed oil and sprinkle with sea salt and bake in 400 degree oven for 40-45 mins.
Meanwhile, cook quinoa. (I always cook mine in homemade veg stock and add salt to the water to flavor)
Then sauté half an onion in grapeseed oil and then fry until it becomes translucent, add 12-15 pitted olives, chopped up, shredded kale, and a chopped up apple. Season with sea salt and a pinch of allspice and sauté until the kale starts to wilt. Turn off the heat and let sit until the quinoa is ready.
Once the quinoa is cooked, add the pan mixture and some Key lime juice. You can add pine nuts here for a crunchy texture or even the squash seeds you can bake alongside the squash. (I added hemp seeds).
Once the squash is cooked pile the stuffing mixture on top of the squash and serve hot!
No need to peel the squash, you can spoon it out of its peel as you eat!!

Tried it Tuesday

Tried it Tuesday! First of all let me start by saying that I've never cared for hummus, I really wanted to like it because of the way some people would rave over it, so I would never buy my own, I'd simply "share" with someone who'd order it while dining, then decide if it was for me.

Well once again, one of my clients was raving about this black bean hummus she'd gotten from Publix and tonight I decided to give it a shot... Drumroll!!!! I LOVED IT, it looks horrible but it really does taste good; great job #Publix cause I'm a pretty harsh critic lol! Has anyone else tried this limited edition black bean hummus from Publix and if so, what are your thoughts?

Just Say NO to Gossip!

Synergy Sunday! just say no to gossip

It's so easy to get caught up with gossip and other peoples business when you aren't focused on your own. Let's face it, it seems easier to talk about what someone else did, needs to do or should do but it takes diligence to take ownership of our own "mess"... Don't block your blessings by contaminating your spirit with someone else's garbage. We have enough junk of our own to deal with than to focus our energy on unproductive behavior such as gossiping. Life is a mirror, what you put out is exactly what you get back, where the attention goes the energy flows! If you insist on talking about them, try lifting that person up in prayer. Sending light, love and wellness your way #The Green Goddess #getinthezone

Day 10 of the Healthy Is Sexy Detox

Its Day 10 of our Winter Detox!!!

Benefits of Natural Detoxification

  • Increase energy level
  • Shed unwanted pounds
  • Amazing glowing skin
  • Naturally cleanse Liver, Kidney, Large and Small intestines
  • Filter toxins out of lymphatic system
  • Improve memory
  • Improve clarity
  • Increase spiritual enlightenment
  • Improve vitality

When I began my first detox in 2002, I was fearful, and I had no idea what to expect. I went to church with my cousin for New Year's Eve service, and they gave out the details about the 30-day Daniel Fast the church was organizing. At that time I was a party girl; when I finished up at the salon, my co-workers and I would hang out and drink. My drink of choice was an apple martini, and I'd consume a minimum of three. My diet was horrible, and it really didn't help that there were three fast-food restaurants within walking distance of my townhouse.  One of the three would provide dinner for my daughter and me at least 5-6 days a week. It feels so outrageous to admit that, especially being that I only eat "fat-food" about once or twice a month now, if at all. On Sundays I would prepare a good old soul food dinner – five-cheese mac’n’cheese from scratch, collard greens, yams and curry turkey wings, just to give you an idea of how I used to throw down in the kitchen.

By now I'm sure you can probably see why I was frightened to move forward with my first corporate fast. I had a ton of unhealthy habits that I had grown comfortable with. They seemed to fit perfectly into my schedule, but I knew I couldn't continue on that path. The fast would require me to think about my choices and decisions about what I would eat and cook for a whole 30 days. Thankfully I had an older client who was very strong in her faith and familiar with fasting; she helped a lot by giving me the encouragement, guidance, and even a prayer for when (notice I said when, and not if) I was tempted to break. With her help I made it all the way through the entire 30 days.  What I gave up was nothing compared to what I gained during this detox/fast. It was an amazing experience that I've been hooked on ever since.

I am here as your detox/wellness mentor.  The body is designed to naturally heal itself. All healing and transformation within the body begins with a detoxification process of some sort. The environment must be in pure conditions for healing to take place. I will design a custom meal plan and detox strategy to help you get on the path to wellness and grant you the support to ensure your success!

A detox should be done a minimum of once a year, however, I reccommend every quarter when the seasons change; especially if you consume meat and dairy products. My phylosophy is "never go into a new season full of old Sh*t"

What are you waiting for? Drop the excuses and lets get started today!

If you'd like a custom detox  or a detox meal plan designed for yourself feel free to email me. Or if you have questions about your detox journey or would like to join us for the Spring Detox don't hesitate to reach out.

Cheers to wellness,

Birthday Shenanigans 2016

Birthday Shenanigans 2016

I had a wonderful birthday and an even better weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my first official art class at Sip N Strokes in Sandy Springs, GA. We did a great job on our paintings as we sipped and stroked. The staff was friendly, attentive and thoughtful. They actually gave the "birthday peeps" a painting from the "gallery" and the "dance off" for the "birthday peeps" was a nice touch.

After the class we headed over to what I thought would be dinner at Scales 925...

Scales 925 was an "experience". I had really high hopes for the restaurant, it wasn't horrible, in fact the music was great, Frank Skii was the official D.J. for the evening, and I will admit it, Frank is an awesome D.J. The food was really good, we ordered the 925 wings, they were seasoned to perfection and the sauce was heavenly. So, I'm sure you may be wondering what turned this into the "experience" I mentioned earlier. First of all this is a restaurant, not a club, there's no dance floor. Parking was $20, the "entry" was $20, then the "bouncer guy" changed it to $10 when he noticed our reluctance, a photographer took a photograph of us and wanted $10 to print the picture. Once we made it in, that was another "experience" within itself. The colorful crowd was filled with sassy twenty something year olds to sixty something year olds paired with twenty something year olds and everything in between. The customer service was mediocre to say the least for the expense of being there. I love supporting new businesses, however I'm a stickler for great customer service and I hate to feel like I'm being robbed. I'm not cheap by far, in fact people close to me know that I will spend without hesitation for luxury, great customer service and an amazing overall experience. You can't have one without the other and Scales really needs to tighten up their brand management and customer service if they plan to stay in business.  Needless to say I'm going to pass on Scales 925 in the future, I've seen and witnessed enough to last me a lifetime. Now, I just need to figure out how I can place an order for the wings without spending $40 before I see the waitress.

Overall, I really did enjoy my birthday weekend and great company.

(Below you can see how perfectly my painting fit over my bathtub in my master bathroom)

Goodbye 2015

Goodbye 2015
As this year comes to a close, there are a few words that keep coming to mind; besides peace-out... Two words that stand out to me are "frequency" and "vision", it's vital that we (you and I) pay attention to "the vibes" when they speak because they never lie. "Vibes" will tell you when it's time to move forward with a connection; romantic and or platonic and vibes will tell you when it's time to call it a wrap.
As we stroll into 2016, we need to be mindful of just that. I'm on a quest, to watch my vision come into fruition and for great vibes and leveled frequency. Some people, places and habits simply aren't going to fit and it's okay for all parties involved. The nudge in our spirits is the sign that it's time to bless them and release them. Don't allow it to linger and drain anymore of your precious energy. If you have more questions than answers for this person, it's probably time to release them. The problem with investing time with people who aren't on the same "frequency" with you is that it distorts your vision and dampens your resilience on an energetic level, so by all means just say no to mediocre relationships and friendships.

My hope for you and I both is that we experience 2016 "on full" full of love, full of truth, full of amazing adventures, full of great friendships, full of spectacular relationships, full of joy, full of greatness, full of opportunities, full of prosperity, full of great health and most of all full of grace from our almighty God. It's time to thrive!  #vibewithme #HappyNewYear
